Community Car Statistics

An annual driving distance exceeding 39,000 miles!

Looking back at the last financial year, Community Car journeys have been the busiest they have ever been for four years in a row, as far back as detailed journey data recordings first began.

April 2023 to March 2024

Our community and volunteer cars travelled 39,127 miles (~62,968 kilometres) in 1,257 journeys, in 12 months.

The demand for the community car service is more popular than ever.

How We Fund the Service

Booking diary analysis indicates that just short of 70% of all mileage travelled is to health appointments, for which we receive no support funding, although robust discussions are continuing with both the Local Health Board and Powys County Council.

Our primary source of Community Car funding comes from the company’s operating surplus from commercial activities – Home 2 School Transport and Event Waste Recycling.

Could You Help Us, to Help Out?

We are very grateful for our loyal band of community car drivers, who regularly demonstrate a willingness to turn out at many unsociable hours, such as early mornings and late nights, to provide transport to our scheme members.

To them, a very big “Thank You”.

If you can spare an hour or two a month, you can help your local neighbourhood with vital transport needs. You can call us on 01982 552727 or read more and apply here.

Join and Use our Services

If you, or someone you know, would like to become registered as a scheme member, we would be pleased to hear from you.

We would be happy to discuss how any of our transport services could help.

Call us on 01982 552727 or send us a message.
