Healthcare Appointment or Other Personal Transport Need?
For pre-arranged appointments
If getting to a doctor, podiatrist, dentist, optician, medical specialist or other health appointment is a problem, we can help get you there and home again. No matter if you live up a tiny country lane or the hospital appointment is 100 miles away! We do have 2 wheelchair friendly vehicles, if you’re unable to get into a car. We are also able to collect and deliver prescriptions.
This service is provided by our wonderful group of voluntary drivers and is charged on a mileage basis. The cost is always subsidised. Please enquire for details.
Your spouse, partner, or carer always travels free.
You will need to be registered as a member, for which we require a joining fee of £1.
We operate under a Section-19 Permit, which means passengers for our Community Car schemes need to be registered as scheme members.
Community Car Transport to medical appointments is available 365 days a year.
Driver qualifications for our drivers are detailed on the About Us page.

Can We Collect and Deliver Your Shopping?
We can shop for you, or with you!
If getting to the shops regularly is a problem, we can help by collecting your shopping for you.
You phone or email your order to us; we then pick the goods and deliver them to you. Big shops like Tesco, Co-op and smaller local shops are included. The shopping is delivered to your door. You reimburse us the shopping cost, plus a small admin charge.
The service is primarily for the elderly, infirm or people self-isolating, however we will help as many people and age groups as possible.
To use this service, you will need to register with us as a Scheme Member. If you or someone you know might be interested in being included, please let us know, and we will send out an application form with a pre-paid return envelope and full details of the service.

Want to use the Community Bus?
Twice Weekly Transport — Tuesday & Thursday
As with all our services, the regular Community Bus is for everyone, not just our older residents and people with special needs. Here at Llanwrtyd Wells Community Transport, we recognise the need for local people to get out and about, and that our public transport system is limited.
Community Bus Route — Llanwrtyd to Llandrindod, via Llangammarch Wells, Cefn Gorwydd, Tirabad, Beulah, Garth, Cilmery, Builth Wells, Newbridge on Wye, Llanyre and Howey
The service runs on a “Dial a Ride” basis, with collection and drop-off points being “door to door”, and not at the end of the street or next road junction. There is no need to wait in the cold and rain outdoors. Our staff will escort you between your door and the vehicle — offering whatever support is needed, e.g. mobility support, shopping bags, etc.
We always use a wheelchair friendly vehicle, and the driver and the “bus buddy” will help you on and off the bus.
The transport cost is subsidised to help make it affordable for all. Please enquire for details.
You will need to be registered as a member, for which we require a joining fee of £1.
Driver qualifications for our drivers are detailed on the About Us page.
