Healthcare Appointment or Other Personal Transport Need?
If getting to a doctor, podiatrist, dentist, optician, medical specialist or other health appointment is a problem, we can help get you there and home again. No matter if you live up a tiny country lane or the hospital appointment is 100 miles away! We do have a wheelchair friendly vehicle for if you’re unable to get into a car. We are also able to collect and deliver prescriptions, shopping and pre-ordered take-away food locally for those in need.
This service is provided by our wonderful group of voluntary drivers and is charged on a mileage basis. The cost is always subsidised. Please enquire for details. Sometimes we’re able to offer this service free of charge – if we have received a grant to cover your journey.
Your spouse, partner or carer always travels free. Driver qualifications for our drivers are detailed on the About Us page. See what one of our regular community car users says about the service.
Community Car Transport to medical appointments is available 365 days a year.

Can We Collect and Deliver Your Shopping?
If getting to the shops regularly is a problem, we can help by collecting your shopping for you.
The Community Shopping Bus allows us to collect your pre-ordered shopping and deliver it to your door. You phone or email your order to us; we then pick the goods and deliver them to you. This means we can do several people’s shopping in one run which keeps costs down. Big shops like Tesco, Co-op and smaller local shops are included. The service is primarily for the elderly, infirm or people self-isolating, however we will help as many people and age groups as possible.
To use this service you will need to register with us, so if you or someone you know might be interested in being included, please let us know, and we will send out an application form with a pre-paid return envelope and full details of the service.
Currently, we’re able to offer this free of charge – we have received a specific grant to cover the transport costs – so you only need to pay for the shopping.
