Top 6 Shortlist for Rural Business Awards 2020/21

Rydyn ni’n falch o gyhoeddi bod LWCT yn y chwe uchaf ar y rhestr fer ar ôl cael ei enwi fel un o'r busnesau gwledig gorau yn y DU yng nghategori “Menter Gymdeithasol Wledig, Elusen, neu Brosiect Cymunedol Gorau” Gwobrau Busnes Gwledig 2020/21.

We will now battle it out against fellow rural businesses, entrepreneurs and enterprises from across the country for the chance to be named a national winner.

Last year (2019/20) we were the National Runners-up in this category, having been the Winner for the Wales and Northern Ireland Region. This year all the judging is being completed remotely, due to Covid-19, and there are no regional competitions. The Rural Business Awards National Final will be hosted online, on 25th February 2021, when the national winner and runner-up of each category will be announced.

Speaking after being shortlisted for this award, Laura Burns, General Manager for LWCT, said:

“We’re over the moon at the news that we’ve been shortlisted for a Rural Business Award. Receiving recognition like this from Amazon and the Rural Business Awards is a welcomed boost during a difficult year. Our superb entry for the competition this year reflects on the hard work volunteers and staff have done in overcoming much adversity during probably the most turbulent year for LWCT, ever. I believe we have given the judges much to think about.”

The Rural Business Awards 2020/21, in partnership with Amazon, will mark the Awards’ sixth year of celebrating the success of businesses across the UK’s rural economy. The Awards are organised by rural business for rural business with the aim of celebrating the achievements of rural businesses and developing a strong network for rural business owners.

Director and Co-Founder of The Rural Business Awards, Jemma Clifford, said:

“This year has been an unprecedented challenge for businesses across the country, but we have still had a fantastic amount of entries from rural businesses, showing the true determination of people working in the rural economy. The Rural Business Awards is the brainchild of Leicestershire businesswomen Anna Price and Jemma Clifford, who wanted to showcase the wealth of entrepreneurial talent in rural areas of Britain.

The Awards have winners in 13 categories – ranging from Best Rural Start-up and Best Rural Diversification Project; through to Best Rural Professional Services Business and Best Rural Innovation – decided by an independent panel of judges drawn from the rural business sector, rural public sector agencies, and rural charitable organisations.
