“I cannot overemphasise just how much Dave’s intervention has helped me out to get back on my feet and find a bit of normality that was very needed when there was no support being offered from anywhere else”
Testimonial From a General Labourer – LWCT
My name is Kit Cuthbertson, and I am a full time single father to my two young children.
Last year I went through a particularly difficult time due to a multiple bereavement in my immediate family, following this shortly afterwards, my relationship with my long term partner broke down, leaving me the sole carer for our children. I was not able to get back into work at this time as I had no child care and also my car died leaving us all but stranded at home and unable to even get my little boy to nursery.
I was feeling at the lowest point in my life and under a lot of pressure and this all came to a head on New Year’s Eve when I was involved in an incident requiring the police to attend and subsequently a court appearance. I was of the belief that I was heading for a custodial sentence. Thankfully with the support of Dave and Llanwrtyd Community Transport I was lucky to just be given a community order.
I had had no support throughout the year, but when Dave at community transport heard of my struggles he stepped in to help, providing transport for my little boy to get back to nursery, and also offered me work, to fit in around my child care responsibilities.
I cannot overemphasise just how much Dave’s intervention has helped me out to get back on my feet and find a bit of normality that was very needed when there was no support being offered from anywhere else.
