Pat Dryden
Co-Director & Newsletter Editor

I first became involved with LWCT in February 2019 when I offered to do some voluntary admin work for the company. I became a Company Director in August of that year, and I am now responsible for writing a monthly newsletter, policies and procedures, updating our Facebook page and many other things, including, along with my fellow Directors ensuring the finances of the company are sound and that we work in a fair and transparent way for the good of the company and the local community.

Originally from South Yorkshire where my two sons still live, I came to visit my cousin in Llanwrtyd Wells and met Jonathan in the Neuadd Arms in May 2005. I moved down here in August of that year, we bought a house in Garth in 2006 and married at St David’s Church in 2007.

I have done many jobs in my life, Shop Assistant, Cleaner, Barmaid, Hairdresser, Admin Person. I ran my own shop where I made and sold celebration cakes and pastries and was a Semi-professional Singer on the WMC’s and in theatres, and am proud to say that I did two concerts with Rotherham Male Voice Choir as guest soprano. I have worked with the elderly and younger disabled for Rotherham Social Services and for the last 20 years before I left I was Day Care Services Manager for Age Concern where I managed 400 day care places a week and line managed around 40 paid and voluntary staff. I am also interested in holistic therapies and have a diploma with credits in anatomy, physiology and massage, 2nd degree Reiki healing, qualifications in Indian Head Massage and Stress Management, plus several CAT points in Aromatherapy.

Since coming to Wales I have been Senior After-school Cub Leader at Ysgol Dôlafon, Town Clerk to Llanwrtyd Wells TC, HR Advisor for Powys Teaching Health Board, Admin Person to Llanwrtyd and District Heritage and Arts Centre.

I am extremely grateful and feel very humble by the way I have been welcomed by local people, and it is my pleasure to give back as much as I can to the area.
