An annual driving distance exceeding 39,000 miles!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Looking back at the last financial year, Community Car journeys<\/a> have been the busiest they have ever been for four years in a row, as far back as detailed journey data recordings first began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

April 2023 to March 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our community and volunteer cars travelled 39,127 miles<\/strong> (~62,968 kilometres) in 1,257 journeys<\/strong>, in 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The demand for the community car service<\/a> is more popular than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How We Fund the Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Booking diary analysis indicates that just short of 70% of all mileage travelled is to health appointments, for which we receive no support funding, although robust discussions are continuing with both the Local Health Board and Powys County Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our primary source of Community Car funding comes from the company\u2019s operating surplus from commercial activities \u2013 Home 2 School Transport<\/a> and Event Waste Recycling<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
